About NuGold: This piece is made from NuGold, a high-quality jeweler’s brass alloy known for its rich, warm gold tone. NuGold contains copper and zinc (no nickel) and is commonly used in artisan jewelry for its durability and beautiful color contrast with silver. Like all brass alloys, it may develop a natural patina over time, which can be polished back to shine if desired. I have treated this piece with Renaissance Wax to slow the natural patina.
Those with metal sensitivities should note that brass is not hypoallergenic, though the silver elements are sterling.
